CANDURA Instruments has developed a version of its popular PowerPro to satisfy the wide ranging requirements of the London Underground. Since 1863 trains have been carrying passengers around London. In 1890 the London Underground introduced electric locomotives. Over the years different electrical services have been added to the system. Today there are four separate electrical supplies in use:
  • 415VAC, 3Phase, 50Hz
  • 600VAC, 1Phase, 33.3Hz
  • 600VAC, 1Phase, 125Hz
  • 650VDC
In 2004 the London Underground maintenance department was looking for one instrument that could be used on all services. After reviewing power quality instruments from a number of manufacturers, CANDURA Instruments’ PowerPro was selected for this job. Now, 10 years later, they are looking for more instrumentation and have selected CANDURA Instruments’ new power quality analyzer, the PQPro.
